Happy Hanukkah

The Jewish Festival of Lights begins tonight. Happy Hanukkah.
I’ll feature two songs tonight. One is the tremendous “How Do You Spell Channukkah.”
The other is the Barenaked Ladies covering the traditional Jewish children’s song “Dreidel.”

Funny, I learned Dreidel back in first grade at Audubon grade school in Rock Island, Il. We learned lots of songs like this. Yet, we survived!
I’m guessing schools don’t allow music with religious overtones anymore. Young skulls full of mush are missing out on a lot of things.

So it goes.
