All Is Well and Christmastime – Michael W. Smith

Michael W. Smith has released three Christmas albums (the first was actually vinyl), Christmas (1989 — All is Well comes from that effort), Christmastime, 1998 and It’s A Wonderful Christmas in 2007.

Of Smith’s Christmas music, he is probably most well known for “Emmanuel,” a song he wrote but was first recorded by Amy Grant on her first Christmas album (released in 1983 – “A Christmas Album”). At the time, Smith was a keyboardist for Grant.

Featuring two songs from Smith tonight,

All Is Well — a beautiful song that for me, reflects the peace of Christmas Eve (and day). (One thing that stinks about a digital music collection is the lack of liner notes — i say that because I am not sure what choir sings this song. The video is actually the Nordic Choir — but I don’t know if they perform on the original.)
